Fourteen years ago, Principal Janet Irwin started the Hollywood estate agency in Zambia. Four years ago, Zambia opened it's doors to investors, lifting all foreign exchange regulations and encouraging privitization of parastatal companies and investment into the country.
South African investors began to pour into Zambia and as a result, Hollywood Estates was beginning to find that many of it's clients were coming into the office requesting assistance with the sale of their homes in South Africa or with finding a home when returning to South Africa.
At this stage, the company realised the enormous potential of belonging to a larger group in South Africa in order to network and refer business. After a lot of homework and review of options, Hollywood became a member of the Homenet group, a leading real estate group in South Africa with offices throughout the country.
Another big bonus in joining the Homenet group was it's full-time training academy - this gave Hollywood Estates the opportunity of putting their agents
through the academy and offering a professional service with trained staff.
In the past four years, Homenet Hollywood has worked with many South African companies assisting them in their move to Zambia. To name a few: Shoprite, Game Stores, Woolworths, Holiday Inn, LTA Grinaker, Barlows, O'Hagans and South African Breweries.
Due to the mining boom and revival of the copper mines, we now have a representative in the Copperbelt Carmel Achuahan.
We are very proud to welcome a new partner to the Homenet Hollywood team, Hari Gunasekera, who has been the manager at Stanbic Bank for the past 25 years.
